Peppermint essential oil is a pain reliever by “cold effect” thus acting against muscle pain, blows, neuralgia and headaches. Our oil prepares the muscles for physical effort and/or facilitates recovery after physical effort (gym, sport, intense manual work). Thanks to the anti-inflammatory action of peppermint essential oil, our massage oil soothes lower back pain, muscle cramps, muscle and/or joint pain. Indeed, Peppermint essential oil prevents pro-inflammatory substances from forming and thus acts on recurrent inflammation. In addition, the essential oil of Gaulthérie Odorante or Couchée is effective against muscle and joint pain associated with the practice of sport thanks to methyl salicylate which inhibits the enzymes responsible for inflammation: It is also a percutaneous analgesic which reduces the pain associated with to sports practice. Methyl salicylate is a level 1 analgesic in the WHO classification.

Anti-inflammatory, shea butter contains a high rate of unsaponifiable matter, composed mainly of triterpene alcohols. Lupeol and beta-amyrin are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
