Azadirachtin is the molecule that gives Neem its very effective repellent and insecticidal characteristics. Its oil is a good repellent against insects, parasites and mites, whether in humans, animals or plants (mosquitoes, gnats, lice, fleas, ticks, etc.).
Neem oil also has antifungal and antibacterial properties allowing it to fight fungus. It is also attributed with hypoglycemic qualities, traditionally used to treat diabetes.
Its smell is strong and not very pleasant, so it is advisable to dilute it with other vegetable oils.
